Roots of Change Report/
Blueprint for Change

Report
There is an urgent need for the state of California to recognize and aggressively build opportunities for the transition to sustainable food systems. While government agencies, policymakers, foundations, and innovative scientists have contributed to progress in this area, major financial and policy barriers continue to prevent a meaningful transition. The Roots of Change report is intended to increase awareness about the need for and the benefits of sustainable food systems. FSFS hopes that this report will stimulate dialogue and attract a wide array of stakeholders, opinion leaders, and decision-makers to the discussion.

Blueprint
Based on extensive research and dialogue with leaders in sustainable and conventional foods systems, FSFS has developed a set of forward-looking recommendations for California: A Blueprint for the Transition to Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems. FSFS encourages each individual or organization to use the Blueprint as a way of evaluating their own work and priorities for action in the context of the larger movement toward sustainable food systems and to expand and refine these recommendations.
