Farmworker Women and Pesticides in California's Central Valley (Report)

By Margaret Reeves and Terra Murphy (PANNA), and
Teresa Calvo Morales (Líderes Campesinas)

Farmworkers in California's Central Valley face some of the highest levels of pesticide exposure in the state. PANNA worked with farmworker women from United Farm Workers (UFW) and the Organización en California de Líderes Campisinas (Líderes Campesinas) to conduct a pilot study of farmworker women's experiences with pesticide exposure and associated medical services in five Central Valley counties. The report reflects the women's experiences as participants in the project, provides background information and presents recommendations for policy changes and future actions to reduce health risks associated with farm work and pesticide exposure.
