Member benefits
All members of FSFS receive the following benefits:

• General Education: news updates, event notices, educational articles, speaker announcements
  
  
• FSFS Events: member meetings and receptions, farm/food system tours, expert briefings
  
  
• Networking and Information exchange opportunities
  
  
• Materials: Access to information for dissemination (such as the Roots of Change report, member foundation materials, compiled funding opportunities, etc.)

In addition, members contributing annually qualify to sit on FSFS’s steering committee (in accordance with the governance structure of the group, available by request.) The Steering Committee meets monthly to discuss funding strategies, determine the direction of the group, plan events, and develop ideas for collaboration. Any member can opt to not sit on the Steering Committee.

Non-member benefits

Because FSFS is a non-profit educational organization, there are a variety of benefits that both member and non-member funders receive, including:

• General FSFS events: Quarterly meetings, select speaker events
  
  
• Education: semi-annual news updates, access to electronic educational documents on website, access to funding recommendations
  
  
• Input: invited input and comment on FSFS’s general direction and initiatives
